You can buy an emergency kit online or by telephone. The Canadian Red Cross kit has a kit available at www.redcross.ca and the St. John Ambulance and The Salvation Army have jointly prepared an emergency kit that is available at www.sja.ca and at St. John Ambulance offices or by calling 1-800-840-5646. Various other kits and emergency supplies are also available for sale from other commercial entities.
By purchasing an emergency kit, you are well on your way to preparing yourself and your loved ones for an emergency. You might want to gather some additional items, like the ones listed in the additional emergency supplies list, including a copy of your emergency plan and photocopies of your personal documents.
